Oscar Nkunzimana

National Denominational Coordinator – Swedish Pentecostal Church

In 2009 on 20th of June, I got married to Mary. God has blessed us with two boys, Denny and Brave and one girl, Debbie. I was born in a Christian family. My father was a pastor. He was a small business man before he accepted the call from God. When the civil war occurred in 1972, he was not at home. This war happened when I was 8 months, I got sick and there was a great risk of death. God healed me. My mother went through hard times for she didn’t know whether my father was alive. After this war, my family moved north, and in 1981 I was in the primary school. I got baptized in 1984 and the same year I experience the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

When I went to the high school, I continued serving the Lord. After high school, we were to go to military service, I spent two months there and I fell sick and gave up. After military service, I taught and became an ordained evangelist. In 2000, I attended university and met Maury Kaspner, a past Community Bible Study: Sub-Sahara Africa Regional Director, together we launched Community Bible Study: Burundi. What was urgent was to get the Community Bible Study Course material translated starting with the book of Acts, then Matthew and finally Romans. During this time I also completed my master’s degree in Nairobi.

VISION: I enjoy serving the Lord through Community Bible Study: Burundi, as the Denominational Coordinator for the Swedish Pentecostal Church of Burundi. It has been a wonderful experience to see how lives are being transformed by the Word of God. I have committed my life to God. I will serve Him as long as I live on this Earth.
